Jim Meadows (Director), BScPT, MCPA, FCAMPT and Scott Gallant, PT, COMT, FAAOMPT, have over 50 years of combined teaching experience.
Jim Meadows
BScPT, MCPA, FCAMT
Jim was chair of the Canadian Orthopedic Division’s Education and Specialization Committees for 12 years and a past Examiner and Instructor with the Canadian Orthopedic Division. Jim is a co-founder and a Senior Faculty Member and Senior Examiner with the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). He is a past faculty member of the University of Alberta and current adjunct faculty at the Texas Women’s University, Andrews University, the Massachusetts Institute of Health Sciences, and the University of Maryland at Baltimore. He also visits and lectures at the University of Pittsburgh. He has presented at National and International Conferences on Manual Therapy and has published in numerous journals. His video series Manual Therapy and textbook Orthopedic Differential Diagnosis in Physical Therapy are sold throughout North America.
Scott Gallant
PT, COMT, FAAOMPT
Scott graduated in 1998 from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada with a B.Sc (physiotherapy) degree and has worked in a outpatient musculoskeletal practice since that time. Scott completed his North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) level III certification in 2001 and gained Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) status in 2003. He is an American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT) Fellow and graduate of the NAIOMT Fellowship Program. He holds faculty and clinical Fellowship Instructor status with the NAIOMT and the Institute of Manipulative Physiotherapy and Clinical Training (IMPACT) as well is co-founder of SMART Seminars. He has presented nationally, published in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored a chapter in a text book. His clinical interests include the neurophysiological effects of manual therapy.

It offered a hybrid educational system that consisted of combined online and classroom learning leading to certification, advanced certification and a diploma in manual therapy. The ultimate aim of Swodeam Institute is to help physical therapists become thoughtful, effective and safe clinicians and leaders of the profession.
